Teachers

The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) can be overwhelming and confusing. The resources available on this site are intended to help answer questions you may have, give you a means of organizing and tracking student success, and serve as a resource to assist you in the change over from the Connecticut State Standards to the Common Core State Standards.

To learn more about how the standards are transforming teaching and learning in Connecticut please watch the presentation given by Dr. Sandra Alberti of Student Achievement Partners at a Connecticut State Department of Education statewide forum in September of 2011. You can read current news and articles about the Common Core at the Core Standards website.

There are two major parts to the CCSS, English Language Arts and Mathematics.  ELA and Math each have specific strands that the standards fall under and vary by grade level.  Click on your grade level then choose either ELA or Math to choose a strand and the standards that fall under that strand.
