Math Resources

Every educator needs a variety of helpful resources to support what they are teaching in the classroom. As the Common Core State Standards are implemented throughout the United States, educators are working to align their lessons with the standards and are in need of resources that are aligned as well.

Most of the resources featured on this page are already aligned to the CCSS to make planning easier.

WatchKnowLearn is a website that organizes videos by Common Core State Standards.  Currently there are over 1000 videos categorized by mathematics standards.  A short registration is required to use all features of the website.

The National Science Digital Library has a Common Core Math Collection that includes resources and games for educator use.

This Kindergarten Common Core Math Wiki was created by the Howard County Public School System and is a useful resource.  While some links on the page are tailored specifically to HCPSS, there are many that educators will find useful regardless of where they teach.  Among the resources are links to the standards and assessment tools.

Mixing in Math has resources that are of benefit to both teachers and parents.  MiM has numerous fun math activities that can be done in the classroom as well as many that are geared toward math outside of school.  A great feature of MiM is that the activities can be printed out as PDF files in both English and Spanish!

A staple for every SPS teacher is Everyday Math Online.  Through the site teachers can track student progress, print student passwords for games at home, print literature lists of recommended texts that correspond with math lessons, and access CCSS information and how it aligns with EDM lessons.  If you have trouble logging in, please contact your math liason or media specialist for assistance.
