Mathematics

The Mathematics Common Core State Standards were developed to define what students should understand and be able to do.  The standards do not dictate curriculum or teaching methods.  The standards are designed to build upon the knowledge and skills mastered in the previous year.  Illustrative Mathematics's image provides a visual showing how, with the exception of Counting and Cardinality and Numbers and Operations - Fractions, each domain extends throughout a student's entire elementary career.  At the Illustrative Mathematic's site you can click on each grade to see  the standards for the grade, or click on the domain to see grade progression.

crosswalk is available from the Connecticut State Department of Education which explains the correlation between the Common Core and Connecticut standards.  The Mathematics crosswalks are organized by grade level and available midway down the page.
